I am trying to wake my imac over the internet. Somehow it works within the first few minutes of putting my computer to sleep. But after a few minutes (about 10 minutes), computer does not wake up.
This is what i am doing - I have a router and i have done port forwarding enabled at a port (9000) (both TCP and UDP). The computer is connected via ethernet. I send a 'magic packet' via a wake on lan tool (available at www.depicus.com) to the computer's ip address. The option 'wake for ethernet network administrator access' under energy saver options is ticked ON.
Somehow if i put the computer to sleep, and send a packet within the first few minutes it wakes it up as it is supposed to. So my setup definitely works. But after those first few minutes, the computer does not wake up at all. It happens whether i put the computer to sleep myself, or it goes to sleep automatically as per energy saver settings. Can someone please help. Thank you.
