Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know about my new app which just went live, called Wake Smarter.

It’s a voice-controlled alarm clock for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. You can use your voice to set alarms, ask for the news or weather, play music, listen to your Twitter & Facebook feeds and more. You can program your whole morning like a playlist, including messages from our “celebrity” guests, joke of the day, horoscope etc.

Here’s a couple of YouTube links, to get an idea of what it can do:

I’m looking to get some feedback on the app and some ideas on how to get the word out about it. Any help you can provide would be really appreciated.

Hey just downloaded your app. I'm quite impressed. Developers should get top marks for this app. I had a bit of trouble with some newsfeeds though but over all a useful app.

Amazing app!

Wake Smarter is an amazing way to wake up. I've been using this app since last week and I still discover new cool options.

Thanks a lot :) if you experience any issues you can always email from within the app or via the website. v1.1 with some fixes and improvements is already in the works.

Few features that could be added

The app is quite nice but it could add a few extra functions:
1. Allow the app to rotate
2. Have different actions for different alarms
3. Allow the user to select a custom image for the background
4. Have more choices for clock faces and digital displays
5. Allow the app to dim the screen so it is not so bright
6. Allow the app to still function correctly if it is not the currently focused app

Thanks for your comments! Most of your suggestions we are considering for a future update so stay tuned.

Having to have the app active is unfortunately a limitation of the operating system, it doesn't allow us to start the app automatically at the time of the alarm. If the app is not open you will get a standard alarm but it's not customizable like the full Wake Smarter alarm is.

By the way, you can adjust screen brightness by swiping up and down on the screen.
