I've got a year old MBP. Sometimes, when it's sleeping, particularly when I've closed it by folding the monitor down and letting it latch to the body of the computer, I have trouble waking it up again. Yesterday morning, I opened it back up and the monitors (I have an external monitor attached) came back on, but everything else was frozen. No mouse or keyboard response was possible. The day before, the monitors didn't even come on. Other times, the machine wakes up just fine.

Any ideas about this? Is this a software issue? Could it be a hardware defect where the OS isn't receiving the message that it's time to respond to mouse or keyboard events?
