First two charges waking up at 7am to see watch on 97%

Anybody else had issue? Almost like it charges in night Then drains abit once it hits 100%

Within how many hours... as in when do you go to bed and when do you unplug it? My 42mm Series 3 on OS 6 drains about 3-6% overnight within a 6-7 hour period when I wear it overnight, which I do every night.

After reaching a full charge, many Apple devices slightly discharge the battery and then recharge to prevent battery fatigue.

ios 13 introduced Optimized battery charging:
A new option helps slow the rate of battery aging by reducing the time your iPhone spends fully charged. iPhone uses on-device machine learning to understand your daily charging routine so it can wait to finish charging past 80 percent until you need to use it.

They may have done some similar optimization in Watchos 6 in a smaller scale.

Is there a way to turn off optimized battery charging? This would be a negative in my use since “when I need to use it” varies greatly with my work and home schedules. I haven’t upgraded iOS yet.

Went bed at 11pm and Woke up at 6.30am so put it on charge again but why would it stop charging when it’s on the charger?

Yes you can. Its in: Settings>Battery>Battery Health.
I believe it was turned on by default in iOS 13. I too have a varying schedule and had to turn it off.
Not sure this is a setting for the Watch though. Haven’t been able to locate it.
