I was always pre-order for pickup in store , but this year I can't due to work scheduled , and all was changed to next month delivery . So , I will try to come early this Friday to Apple Store before 8AM , will they have in-stock for walk-in customer ?

What was your experience with previous iPhone release ?

They usually set aside walk ins so you should be able to go there as early as 8 am. If they have the you want, reserve it and the time and come back at a later time to pick it up. That's how apple store near me does it.

Yes. At my store, they had separate lines for walk-ins and order pickups. For the walk-ins, they would come down the line and ask what you want. Then they look it up in their handheld device, and put your name on one so you know you’ll get it.

So, obviously, the earlier the better.

They also have walk-in stock that is not shown on the website inventory for the weekend, so don’t use that as a guaranteed answer. Best to go in person.

Get there very early. Last time I did a preordered pickup from regent street (seen to be flagship in UK), I asked out of interest how many they got for walk-ins, I think they said they had 10 pro max's delivered that day.

That said - they tend to then get a delivery every day or two with more.

Seems there is no more stock for pre order on Apple.com, It now ask for you to check back on Friday.

I would check Friday morning (early) at all your local Apple stores and look for in store pickup availability.

Pay for it immediately because someone else will get it and waste your time waiting in line blindly hoping for one.

Then walk into the Apple Store to pick it up.

So basically there's no point in standing in line, just check in the middle of the night to see if they have stock for pickup?

The apple.com for in-store availability won't be back on till 6 AM your local time so you'd have to check then.
Is the 6am time a pretty sure thing? First time I missed the preorder and I noticed that the "check for store availability for pick up 9/16" option went down Wednesday morning (yesterday).

I've done in store pick ups last year, and the year before and the year before that. It has always been the case that at 6 AM your local time that it gets renabled.

Also yes, Apple will typically disable it on Wednesday and turn it back on on Friday.

Spoke to the guys at my local store and they said instructions from above are "NO WALK IN SALES", there will be zero stock for walk ins so don't come in. Friday/Sat/Sun are for reservations only. Monday closed, Tuesday will be walk in sales (if there is any stock)

While I have no reason to doubt you were told that, I have never seen it that way ever despite having been told that before.

me neither Jeremy. I had a lengthy phone call with them, they said it will be a wasted trip if I rock up at 8/8.30 thinking I can go in the store and ask to buy one. I'll be hitting the refresh button at 6am in hopes I can reserve one in store after last weeks total cluster-FK of pre ordering not working for me.

Based on past releases Apple Store in Canada say no walk in stock, have to go on app to reserve pick up if any

I assume you are from UK as apple store closes on Monday? I think each store store does their own. At least here in US there likely will be walk ins as there always has been in the past unless they change it

Must be an Apple store outside the USA.
I have 6 Apple Stores near me and none close on Mondays....

Correct - start checking inventory at Apple Stores for pickup before the store opens.
You may have to be flexible with driving distance to an Apple Store that has the trim, model, color and storage you want.

Or you may have to get whatever they have.
