Walked right into Best Buy and got one!

Woke up at 330am and was going to wait at verizon but fell back asleep

woke up at 8 again and ran over to my local best buy in philly and it was a GHOST TOWN.....

the best buy guys says " we only have 32gb models" i said great thats what i want!

i was in and about with an hour with my new iphone 5

no waiting, no lines!!!!!!!!

good luck to everyone else today!!!:D;):):):):)
 
I hit the ATT store on 16th today about 7am. Was out the door by 8:30 and decided to walk by the Apple store on Walnut. That place was a zoo! I told people in line to hit the ATT store for no wait and they all looked at my like I was crazy!

LOL the best buy in south philly was dead

the guy told me i should play the lottery i was so lucky LOL

Yeah, I never understood why people go to the apple stores when the carrier stores down the street are much less crowded.

I got to my local Verizon store at 7:30 and walked out with my phone about 45min later. They had about 50 people there but were organized and efficient.
 
thats pretty awesome. i say to myself i will never stand in line for this type of stuff but maybe i should of taken a shot? i always like to order directly from apple.
 
Noice! I had a feeling if you used your head you would be able to find some stores you could cruise in and out of. This is the first time I have preordered since the original iPad. Fortunately I work at home. Unfortunately I work at home so I am obsessively looking out of my window. OCD 1, Productivity 0. Wish I had not gotten up at 3am last Friday and just walked into an AT&T store today...
 
Wow, I thought Best Buy only had pre-sales and I read nightmares about them fulfilling even those. You must have lucked out. I waited outside my Verizon store at 1am (bought into the Internet hype) and ended up second in line, but easily could have shown up at 5-6am and been in the same position. They wouldn't reveal their total inventory, but I estimated around 40-50. They sold out of the Black 16's in 2 minutes. I never understood why people go to the Apple store too, but I think they just want to be part of the experience. If you want to wake up at 9-10am, then you have really no choice b/c most carriers would have sold out by then. Hats off to Verizon though as they were extremely organized. This was the Verizon store in East Northport, Long Island, NY.
