My wife and I use it all the time. I had an issue when I first set it up. Had to do with her phone number appearing in two different contacts, which I fixed. Since then, no issues at all. When sending the first message, it takes a few seconds to make a link, and then after that the communications are immediate.

You might look at re-pairing your watch to your phone or wiping and restoring. Do your friends have issues talking to each other or just to you?

Hasn't worked on my end from the beginning. Locked up my brothers Series 2 both times I tried to get to him from my S4. Hasn't worked going to my friends with S4 either.

My girlfriend and I have series 2 watches and it also never works. It just tries to connect and then says one of us is unavailable even when we're right next to each other and definitely available. Silence off, DND off, available toggled, it doesn't matter, it just doesn't work for us. I have an iphone x and she has an iphone 7.

That’s pretty much what happens for me and my group of friends. When it works it works but when it’s not been used for a few days it’s exactly as you described.

Walkie talkie works fine for me most all the time. My only issue is that every time I use it it adds myself as a walkie talkie contact. I remove myself on the watch and in the watch app on the phone but just re adds me when I use it again. This does not happen on my wife’s or any of my friends. I don’t understand why it does this as it won’t let me talk to myself lol! I’ve rebooted both the watch and my phone at the same time but keeps happening. My next option is to reset and set up as new watch. I really don’t want to do that.

It barely works for me, too. I have a Series 4, my friend has a Series 3, and my father has a Series 2. I've tried this feature with both of them - sometimes with them in the room, right next to me, sometimes in another state - and it works maybe 20% of the time. The rest of the time, it just says "Connecting..." and eventually says it could not connect.

I think it works best only on series 4.
