Hello!

Just a bit ago a circuit tripped while I had a bunch of stuff on. 2 computers were on, a Mac mini and a PC. When I rebooted the Mac, I saw that the desktop wallpaper had changed to the Leopard default and my TM disk had the generic FireWire disk icon. I had the wallpaper set at something different before.

If it matters, System Preferences was open, and at the wallpaper selection screen and I was picking a background. The rest of the computer seems fine.

What happened?

Sounds like com.apple.desktop.plist got corrupted when the power went out. Just change the desktop and forget about it. There should be no permanent damage and it isn't likely to happen again.
