Wallpaper trouble

For some reason whenever I set this picture as a lock screen or home screen wallpaper the top automatically darkens. Can anyone suggest a fix? It only happens with this photo.

i found the same issue with a photo from my mother iphone 5 ... the only way to make it work its turning off the moving wallpaper effect when you choose the photo :/

Yup same here. Apple didn't fix the wallpaper feature. The images are still cropped too. smh
