I have googled it and mroogled it but I can find a solution to my problem. When I go into system prefs and try to change my wallpaper, just using the supplied wallpapers the little thumbnail in that window changes, but my actually wallpaper never changes. Whats wrong and how can I fix it?

Im on a 2.4ghz MBP running 10.5.6

Open up Console (/Applications/Utilities/) and try to do it again. See if any new messages show up when you try. If there are copy and paste those messages into a post here and we can see if there are any clues. Be sure to use the code tag when posting the messages, it's the button with a # on it, which make the messages easier to read on here.

You can also try deleting the preference file for the desktop. It's located at ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist. You may want to log out and back in after that.
