Walmart and early upgrades...can someone confirm?

Was at a walmart yesterday and was told that if you are eligible for an upgrade at the subsidized price any time in 2010 you will be able to
use it earlier so that you can get the iPhone 4 at launch. Anyone know if this is true?

Simply call *639# on your phone and wait for the text to come. It'll tell you if you're eligible.
