Hey everyone:

I'm really hoping someone reading these forums can tell me an easy way or simple program I can use that will do what it is that I'm trying to achieve here.

Basically, I'm looking for some way to end certain programs on my computer when the battery gets low. You see, I'm a big fan of the program Caffeine, which prevents your Mac from sleeping or dimming the display when it's running. The problem is, the program isn't smart enough to realize when the battery is getting low, so it needs to turn itself off so that the computer can enter sleep mode and preserve it's memory. Rather, it allows the battery to get down to nil, at which point the computer just dies from a lack of power.

So, I'm wondering if any of you wonderful people know of any program or SOMETHING I can run that will monitor the status of my macbook's battery, and when the battery level gets lower than a certain threshold, allow me to specify that it turn off a program (or even launch another program which I can use to turn off caffeine!).

Anyone have any ideas? I've been searching for a solution to this for a while, but I haven't really come up with anything. I know that there has to be some way to do this; I just don't know what it is.

Thanks in advance!
