Want an 3G Iphone but want T-Mobile

I've been saving my money and have a part-time job that will pay for service but for personal reasons I'd rather not have AT&T. What plan or plans can I get for T-Mobile? Is there anything in the $20 -$30 range? Can I get a simcard from them or do I need to buy a used one from ebay? I'd like a voice and data plan so I can access the internet as well as call friends. And lastly, what is T-zones and is it really $5.99 a month? Is it unlimited too? Thanks for helping a noob.

iPhone 3Gs can not be software unlocked yet. You're gonna have to get the sim tray unlock thing or w/e it is, if it works, to get on T-Mobile I believe.

Just know that an iPhone 3G on T-Mobile will only be capable of running on EDGE since T-Mobile's 3G uses different frequencies.

The iPhone will work in T-Mobile's 2100 mhz 3G coverage areas not the 1700 mhz. However, you'd still need to find a way to unlock it.

yeah it is possible. what you to do is to get a gevey 3g turbo sim from this guy. Insert it in the iphone 3g along with your tmobile sim. and Voila. If you are running a mac you can jailbreak and activate so that you can sync the phone to itunes without the annoying message about an invalid sim.

Tzones works fine. I am currently using an iphone 3g on Tmobile. There is no software unlock, but the sim unlock works perfectly.

Thanks guys for all that, but what I mean is what is the cheapest plans to use for both voice and data? I can't go nuts and pay the high cost of the AT&T plans and I need something managable or my folks won't let me get one. That's why I was wondering about the T-Zones?

Maybe this phone is just too expensive for you if you are so limited in budget.

Maybe take a break for a month and decide from a practical sense not a "want" sense.

Looks like no ones giving you straight answer. Iphone 3g with sim unlock works fine. Edge works but not 3g. Cheapest tmbile plan is 29.99. No mtm or night min. T-zone is 5.99 and you can use apc.tmobile.com works like a charm with 3g. No prepaid with tzone tho. Ill say best bet is going with 39.99 and t-zone. Good luck

You can get the $30 plan that has 300 minutes and unlimited weekends. After that you can jailbreak the iphone and install T-zone hack to get the internet working. T-mobile has a $5 internet package i think... they are changing it to 100MB cap a month.
