Anybody have both to compare them to?

I may sound a like a wacko but I think there's an intangibleness to the size difference between the two. That is, if its going to be used in a highly mobile environment lugging the 17" around could get old pretty quick. Then there's the usage on planes and such. The 17" is just too big imo for such usage patterns.
