I've been using an android phone, and there is a great app called smooth calendar which has a widget that can be placed on the home screen. Its nothing fancy, it just displays the 3-4 upcoming appointments that you have in your calendar without having to open the app.

Basically, Id like to find an iPhone app that will allow me to see my next few upcoming calendar appointments without having to open up the app. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance for any help

Not without jailbreaking. The closest would be swiping down to show notification center.

I'm sure there are jailbreak tweaks out there, but yeah, the notification center does that, but requires a swipe. Not sure if there's a calendar/notification iWidget, but there are lots of iWidgets out there that work really well...I'd imagine someone's done one that takes your calendar notifications.

Totally understand if you want something else, but won't the pull down notifications do the same thing (list near future appointments)?

The great thing about the smooth calendar was that when I turned on the phone, my next 4 appointments were sitting right there on the "desktop" so to speak. I didn't have to open anything, I could just see the dates and times and who it was with right there. Id do a quick glance to see if I had any missed calls, text messages, and look at that all while on the main screen. Obviously I can check the text and calls the same way on the main screen with the iPhone, but the appointments not showing is sad :(

Any luck?

I just switched from Android and the two things I miss most are the beloved SwiftKey for my keyboard and the desktop calendar.
Any luck on the calendar app?
Alternatively, how do I make my appointments show in the notification swipe? I haven't seen this yet.
