Want to add SSD to my iMac - need help

I think I want to add a SSD to my iMac 5,1 - OS 10.6.8 I am hoping that this will speed up things like surfing web and maybe just overall speed in regular applications. Nothing big, just most of the things that Macs come with, Pages, iTunes, iPhoto, etc. IF this is a good idea, then can someone give me direction where to buy online for best price/service/brand?
