I have jailbroken my Iphone 3GS on 3.0.1 firmware. Have multiple packages and have installed couple of themes, been using this since almost over 8 months now without any problems.

Recently the springboard of my phone crashes every now and then (almost two three times a day).
Hence i was planning to refresh the iphone software and hence wanted to upgrade the phones firmware to 3.1.2 (as 3.1.3 is still not cracked).

Before i do this, I wanted to backup all my plugin and packages installed on the phone.
Other things i can backup using SSH tools. But how do u backup the plugins and packages i.e. components of mobile substrate and others etc.

Also what is the best and the safest way i can use to upgrade from 3.0.1 to a jailbroken 3.1.2 firmware.
