I have a mac mini and want to buy a web cam to see my son who is in the Middle East when we chat on IM.

My monitor is not an LCD, but an older monitor. I would like to pay under $100.

Any help on what to buy?
I am also new to this mac forum and might have posted incorrectly.
Thanks.

Note that, if you buy iChatUSBCam, you can use most USB webcams with iChat or Skype 2.0 (the site lists many compatible ones). I've used the software, and it works.

Macally & Logitech link - Mac 9 - OSX+ supported cams

MACALLY's IceCam is compatible with Mac OS 9.2, Mac OS 10.2, Mac OS 10.4 -- drivers are on their site. Looks to me like the most compatible of all, and small for portables. I particularly like Macally because their tech support is great and they really stand behind their products.

Logitech stuff is good too -- I've had good support relations with them on a variety of peripherals. Here's LOGITECH's link telling which of their cams should be Mac-compatible.

isight is way out of his price range, and to be honest, for a web cam, isight is unbelievably expensive,

I would 2nd iMage Webcam mentioned above.
