I have it on all day and heard that by using a cooling pad, the internal fans would run less thus reducing wear and tear...also, if this dang thing could get a little cooler would be nice...

I have a 15.4 inch MBP and don't want to spend more than 20/30 bucks on it...

Also, while we're on it. I have a fan-noisy-hot Dell Inspiron 9100 lieing around that I might consider getting a cooling pad for...any recs for that one?

Thanks mucho.

I remember my friend had four jell freezer packs (The stuff with that blue goo in it) and he would place two under his ALPowerBook and keep swapping the other two in the freezer every two hours. He reported it solved his problem with the heat issue, it wouldn't lock up or anything so he could use it for long long long hours.
