I used a program on Windows ... cough .. called SoundForge to edit my home produced Farts and Burps CD a few years ago. It was a bit OTT for my needs. But now I am Mac Friendly - I now want a pretty basic sound editing program that I can chop my original long MP3 file into the 90 fart size segments ... to convert to ringtones.

Is there a free/cheap Mac program I could use?

I had a dabble with GarageBand but its a bit like using a badly designed sledgehammer to crack a nut ... I just want summat easy and simple to crop sounds and export them to AAC or MP3 kinda thingies.

Cheers y'all!:D

I still recommend amadeus pro which I have used for quite a few years now. Not free, but very reasonable considering the features. Easy and pleasant to use.

Thanks Loge

this looks pretty good for the equivalent of about fourteen British quids!

I actually am intending chopping up and utilising sounds off my Farts and Burps CD to convert to ringtone format so I presume this would do it?

Just go with Audacity, you won't regret it. But if you do regret it, it cost you nothing :D
