I got my iPhone 4 16gb delivered today. I am going to order my wife’s phone soon, but I was concerned with how much video this new HD camera was going to hold and wanted to decide whether or not I needed to go to the 32gb.

So, I set out to fill my empty iPhone and see how much it takes to max it out and this is what I found.

The phone can hold just over 3 hours and 6 minutes of video.

The limit to a single video file is 3.7gb according to image capture and 3.96gb according to “get info” on my mac. This translates to 50 minutes straight video.

There are a few notifications that I came across during my test.

One is given at the file limit and the other when the phone runs out of space.

I hope this helps some of you determine whether the 16gb version is enough space for you. I think its plenty of video for me.

If I missed a piece of info, let me know.
