Hi guys,

I have an old speaker from JBL which uses AirPlay-1 technology and it cannot be updated to Airplay-2 as the company does not support or provides any Software Update to do this. Very recently I have also purchased two OG HomePods now my problem is, I cannot play all the speakers at the same time since the JBL speaker is only Airplay-1 and HomePods are AirPlay-2 so the JBL speaker cannot play together with the HomePods.

So I believe the only solution for this is, if I have the third generation AirPort Express and if that is connected to the same Wi-Fi as all the other speakers, even Airplay-1 Speakers can play with the Airplay-2 speakers right ? All the the same time.

But I am in a dilemma here, will Airport Express be only the right product for me or something like the Belkin AirPlay-2 adapter will also work here ? the limitation with AirPlay-2 Belkin adapter is that you can only play one device connected to the adapter which can play Airplay-2, where as with AirPort express I can have more than one speaker connected to the Airport Express at the same time and Play Airplay-2 which may not be possible using the Belkin Adapter. I am also in the future planning to buy a subwoofer which I am going to pair it with the OG HomePods. So do you guys also agree and believe that Airport express is the way to go for my kind of situation and requirement and that the Belkin AirPlay adapter Will not serve the purpose in my situation.

Please advise guys.
