Hi all,

I've got a MBP, and I'd love to replace the hard drive in it. I've got the stock 500g hard drive in there and would like to get 750g to 1tb, at at least 7200 RPM. We use this laptop to do recording, so the bigger and faster we can get the better! I'm not looking to break the bank, but what would you recommend? Thanks!

Have you checked out the Seagate Momentous XT?

It's a nice hybrid drive and has received favorable reviews from MR members as well as Amazon customers.

Gets my vote as well. I have the first generation of that drive in another notebook and love it. Great drive. Faster than a regular drive but still a ton of capacity at a good price.

Was just telling someone about this in another thread. Definitely go for the XT 750GB. I installed it on my new MBP a couple weeks ago and there has been a noticeable speed improvement. As it learns what you use on your computer, it will operate those faster. Boot speeds and app run speeds have continually increased over just two weeks.
