I know you know that I have been working on this for a bit and the previous site was slow as x mas. However, the guys over at www.itouchchat.com decided to give me some web space to write the software with. Without further delay I present a comprehensive report tool that will allow us to :

• Compare Ipod quality
• Add links to your ipod quality
• Add links that will help others determine if their ipod is bad
• Compare battery life
• Where iPods are located that are bad (purchased from)
• What model and serial numbers tend to be bad
• much more...

Links to everything you need to add are on the main page. Please notice that if you want to view a section you need to press the "View All" buttons to see everyones results.

Remember, the more people that use this the better we will understand how widespreed the problems are and possibly find trends as to where/why/how this all happened.

Remember, this site is certainly in construction. I havent had much time to work on it, so please be patient with changes. There are alot of link errors that I have seen, but nothing is glaring.

Great - thanks for doing this!

Ironically, many of the pics at MR & others you link to look better on my Touch than on my eMac (better brightness, contrast, etc.)

Again, I think for many of us, some small or large part of this may be net-induced paranoia over our new $400 toys. Like I said earlier, it took my wife's awe-struck reception of my Touch to make me realize that mine is probably a good one.

Far from it to say there aren't problems. But, I think many of us may be exaggerating minor issues b/c of what we read (that was me at 3:30 AM last night). If you're on the fence, ask some neutral observers, and swear off the forums for a day, then take stock.

Been corresponding with the folks at MacInTouch - they're quite happy with how video/photos look on their Touch, and posted photos from the LCD test site here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/macintouch/sets/72157602037456158.

Results look quite similar to mine (Touch = OK) and to the other poster here who opened with the big photoset.

Most people from apple had issues, also most people with 3A100a had issues. I will compile more results tonight.
