I have a late 09 uni 15" and have had my matte screen replaced 4 times already. I have been looking at my friends mac w/ glossy (same as mine, just gloss) and looks nicer in my opinion. Is there a way I could get it switched at the Apple Store?

You seem determined so why not just take it to your Apple store and give it a try. Let us know how it goes.
First 2 were from scratches caused by the keyboard, the next one was from a mura in the lower middle left (sorry write four, meant three.)
I don't see buying/selling any macs in the near 3 years. Im going to call Apple tomorrow morning see what they say. Store Chat didn't say no, but didn't say yes either. Its not so much glossy vs matte for me, its just scratching that I worry about and like touching my screen.
a question came to my mind i am planing to get Matt but since this thing happened for this guy is this really common issue and how keyboard can scratch the display
The genius at the apple store told me "This is technically considered wear and tear, and has happened on previous macbook's like the white one, but I recommend putting a cloth between the screen and keyboard, seeing how your so picky."
I would say go for glass, it just gives a sense of more security for the screen.
Glossy is lovely. If you're indoors, I'd always suggest to go with glossy. But what's the nonsense about keyboard scratching the display ? Talk to the store manager.
just a quick update:
my friend (who has glossy) told me he has similar markings, ever since he started bringing his mac to school. I decided to look into this, and noticed the top center of the mac screen is rather flexible, and anything greater than 1lb of force causes the screen to start warping colors.
