I have a iPhone 3Gs on firmware 4.0 jailbroken through jailbreakme.com with baseband 5.13.04.

I want to restore my phone to default state and also upgrade to the 4.0.1 firmware so I can re jailbreak using jailbreakme.com

The "New to the iPhone World?" sticky thread has a link to the 4.0.1 firmware for my 3Gs.

Can I just get the firmware from there and load up iTunes and restore to the custom firmware I got from the "New to the iPhone World?" thread?

This will reset all my data and then be on the 4.0.1 firmware right?

Just worried about possible bricking. Not sure if there's any issues upgrading to 4.0.1 firmware from my jailbroken 4.0 iPhone. Wanted to make sure.

Thanks.
