So i have a macbook pro 2011 early 8gb ram, 500gb 7500 rpm

i updated to mavericks and now its slow and sucks i plan to upgrade ram to 16gb when it goes down again or possibly for black friday.

if there are any good SSDs on sales id love to pick one up will probably need 256gb for my needs.

If you get newegg emails you should wait for the 15% off coupon on Samsung SSDs, I get one every 2 weeks. You can score the 500GB for under $300. Those deals on amazon aren't that good.
 
That would be nice just signed up so will be looking for that,

Any deals on 16gb ram that anyone knows about. Owc is at 195 bit much I think
 
I recommend any SSD by samsung. Apple uses samsung themselves for ssds, and they are very reliable.
 
I'm about to "click" and buy the Adorama one (Samsung EVO) for my mid-2010 MBP 13" (to replace the original Toshiba 250GB HDD).

I'm confused about whether I need the "notebook kit" or whether I can just get the plain drive :confused:

Have a friend helping me so going to go for fast shipping, and hate to end up missing something I need (but don't want to buy a "kit" I have not use for either).
