iPhone 13 Pro Want to upgrade on no contract...should I switch?

Hi have an XR thats getting long in the tooth and want to upgrade. Currently with Cricket and the service is ok. I may switch to Visible or Verizon. I usually buy my phones outright. Wanting to upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro. Would my best bet be buying direct from Apple? I am not a fan of long term contracts. I mean I don't switch carriers often, but don't want to be stuck if I decided I need something better for my needs.

Any advice (it would just be me on the plan)? Thank you!

I just buy the unlocked iPhone directly from Apple every year for full price and resell it every year. I am on Verizon but gives me the freedom to not be stuck and can move to any carrier anytime by simply swapping SIM card.

May do this! Want to switch to Verizon (ATT sucks where I am currently).

I agree. Just buy it outright. Don't forget to get AppleCare +TL. The 13 Pro Max will be a huge upgrade for you. Enjoy!
