I have a Mid 2012 with 8GB's of RAM with a standard HDD (cant afford an SSD right now). I want to upgrade to Mojave in the fall but if it slows down my Mac by any means I will not.

Does Mojave require a SSD? Lots of macs from 2012 still use HDD's you know. My HDD works just fine except with the launching of MS Office apps.
It doesn't require SSD. I am running it off an external HDD right now. It is very slow to load compared to my stock SSD. Once loaded, it isn't that bad, although I wouldn't want to run Mojave on a HDD all the time.

The reason I said what I did, is because I am familiar with your posting history.

Hi Sierra is slow to load but once loaded it’s not bad.
