I'm running an Xsan fibre optic video server network.
Due to the odd way Final Cut Pro saves files there is an issue if a client on the network logs out of a workstation.
The problem it causes is that you are then unable to save your work again to the network and instead have to save to the desktop and then copy that file to the server, open up that copied project and carry on...very frustrating, particularly when people log out all the time!
Is there a way to give a prompt or somehow stop people from logging out of machines using a script or automator? Ideally I'd like a dialogue box to appear on screen saying "You really don't want to do that do you?" as we are constantly reminding people and also have signs in the room and on the desktop!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
K.
