I'm considering doing away with a usb flash drive, and would like to use the iphone to transfer files instead. It has plenty of space, and all the connectivity, so I figure there has got to be a way.
I'm after ease of use and simplicity. When I transfer files, it is to other people's computers; tinkering with them is not an option. I do not want to have to install software on the computer for this to work. I want to use available, native file system tools, and have it be as cross-platform as possible. To be quite specific here, I would even like to be able to transfer files to and from a PS3, exactly like a standard USB thumb stick.
I'd also be interested in a strait forward way to transfer files wirelessly. I know next to nothing about this. Do modern operating systems provide wireless file transferring procedures, without the need for third party software? If so, what would be the easiest method available? WiFi is acceptable, but would bluetooth be easier, seeing as I do not need to bother logging onto someone else's network, or fiddling with encryption / WiFi passwords?
One important thing to note is that I'm not that interested in accessing the iPhone file system (although that fine). I'm interested in a file vault much like a USB stick, which I can simply transfer files to and from.
EDIT: PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD; I realized it belongs in "iPhone Tips, Help and Troubleshooting"
