Good Evening,

I just picked up a 256gb 15" MPB. So far so good. Due to storage restriction, I'll be building a "Separate" Mac via a Samsung T5 external SSD via USB-C.

Question: Should I format it as APFS or just Mac OS Extended Journaled? I've heard of issues with people wanting to to use external SSD's on the new MBP's when using APFS. I personally had an issue with the 5K iMac when I attempted it, but this was due to fusions drives not working with APFS currently and do forth. But this will be for the MBP which has a SSD and currently of course if running APFS.

Basically, if you were going to run a Mac from an external (a Sammy T5 drive), what format would you format the drive to host the OS?

Thanks for any insight and results from your own experience
