Want Word 08 to highlight words using shortcut

Currently word does not have a shortcut for that option and it makes it a pain to to stop and click on highlight button, highlight word then leave. It is extremely annoying when working on a research paper.

Can anyone help?

i agree, when scampering for taking notes this becomes Extremely Annoying. If anyone know as way to have the highlight tool on a shortcut, or even a way to script it please help.
