I was on the fence about black/white iPhone 4. I have had every model and had a white one at one point. They all had one thing in common...black surrounding the screen. Not sure if I could get used to white. The black surround seems easy on the eyes.

I ws on the fence too till the white wasn't available. I don't think it would've made a difference in easiness on the eyes though

I have always owned a white iPhone because I wanted to stand out from everyone else. This time around I did not know wether to get white or black. After some thought I am going with black for a change. Reason being 1. White isn't avaliable, and 2. I don't really like the all white theme; I guess I would go with what was said above; black is easier on the eyes.

I am waiting out for the white... The only thing about the white is that it may show dirt more, especially around the home button. I'm just hoping to get a case that covers the home button.

This is the point of forums, discussions within groups of people. If you don't like this thread, all you have to do is scroll down a little more to view the next. Mind your business.

Actually, as innocent as it may seem, it really makes this forum inefficient. The more duplicate threads that are made, the more diluted the forums become. The more diluted they become, the more relevant threads get pushed down or missed. ;) It may seem innocent (and the intentions are innocent as well), but it kills productivity and relevant news and information. ;)

I just wrote this on another thread. ;)

How do I start a new thread?
To start a new thread:

Browse or search the forums to see if there is already a thread on the topic. If so, post there instead of creating a new thread.
Start at the main forum page.
Click the name of one of the forums, e.g., Mac Basics and Help.
Click the New Thread button at the top or bottom of the page.
Type a thread title in the Title box and your post in the Message box.
Click the Preview Post button to check if your post came out as you want it.
Click the Submit New Thread button.

Minor Problems
13. Failing to search. If you have a question, it may already have been asked and answered in the forums. If you have an issue to discuss, there may already be a discussion about it. Set a good example by searching for existing threads before starting a new thread. When other people (especially new members) fail to search and start new threads on old topics, don't scold them or make them feel unwelcome. The best way to be helpful is by posting a link to a previous relevant thread.

+1

I too wanted white because it has normally been less popular and if you have the white one people recognise it as being an iPhone. With the black though it will just blend in. Even now when i look at the pics i thing how nice the white looks. But then also the screen does stand out better on the black one as if you say watch something on Youtube with black on the front, then the borders blend in with the rest of the phone.
With the white however you would notice the black borders contrasting against the white and also the big rectangle of black where the border is.

So though the finger prints are going to show up waaaay more, the availability of black (though i could have waited) and the fact that all Apple videos always show black, i have taken this as a sign to just get black this time around, as the phone is for my viewing not showing off to others!

My wife has white iphones and I have black. Easier to tell them apart. And since she got the 3GS, I get the iPhone 4. So, I would have gotten black anyway.

The thin black border running around the entire LCD would drive me nuts on the white phone. Although from a style standpoint, the white isn't going to show off greasy fingerprints like black. I think of all this and then I remember one important thing: it's just a phone. A phone I'll most likely replace in a year when the inevitable 4g version comes out, rendering all this consternation over this years phone kinda dumb.
