Obviously, notifications can be very useful but, like with what happened with email, they are getting out of control. Is there any hope for, or rumors about, Apple requiring developers to allow users to opt out of or turn off all non-time-sensitive notifications?
For example, I want to know that my Uber driver or Walmart delivery is en route, but I don't want or need a slew of daily notifications telling me that patio furniture is on sale (Walmart) or some restaurant is offering $5 off today (DoorDash, Uber Eats), etc.
Unless I'm missing a setting somewhere, right now, the choice is all or none. I'm hoping Apple will fix that. If you agree, please send feedback to Apple:
