Either drive should work. "SATA" and "SATA2" can use the same cables and whatnot. One thing to keep in mind though, is that a faster hard drive (RPM-wise) will usually use a bit more battery power. Varies by brand and model though, so you might want to look into that more closely, unless you aren't on the move much or you always carry your adapter with you.
