Probably my most straight forward question yet lol.

I have a 4GB MBP. It's a MBP from mid 2010. Been doing more movie and music work as of late and the 4GB is havin a little trouble keeping up at times. So wanna jack it up to the 8GB.

I was wondering where the best place to purchase the RAM upgrade would be, id also like to know if this is something i can do myself and if so what tools would i need (links to all this would be appreciated).

Thanks for the help all.

Look up crucial.com, you can get the exact ram chip number.
Installing is easy, just have to get the #0 screw driver and get the 10 screws out and you will see the ram slot, make sure you install the chip snug tight.
watch this video might help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EFRHdREdqw

You can upgrade to 8 GB RAM quite easily, you need 1066 MHz 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM, you can get it from Newegg or Crucial. It should cost around 50 USD and less.

PS: Some 2010 MBPs are reported to support 16 GB of RAM, but check MRoogle for that.

PPS: What video editing application do you use?

Right now im using IMovie for video editing since it came with the computer.

And thanks for the info (to you and everyone else).
