Wanting to use rMBP as Target Display

Alright I want to use my rMBP as a display for an xbox. I've looked at it before and learned the HDMI is only output (dumb in my opinion). I didn't think about it before but is there a way to get an adapter and plug HDMI into Thunderbolt to use the laptop as a screen and preferably audio too?

I do not want to buy one of those expensive HD capture card things.
