I am trying to install Warcraft 2, but since its for older version of Mac OS, can I install it? I cannot find any patch or updates that will make it work. Tried Apple.com, blizzard.com and google but nothing.

Thank you

ps. Yes Warcraft 2, not 3 but 2.
pss. Does this problem exist for Diablo and Starcraft?
I am assuming WC3 FT works fine?

If you want to play warcraft 2 you need OS 9. You can run it on any mac made between 92 and 2006. I would get an old performa and make it your own classic game station. You need PPC or even a motorola processor.

If you don't want the hardware, I guess sheepshaver would work for you. I just love to see people gaming on the older hardware.

Starcraft, Diablo II, and WCIII are all OS X compatible, WC2 is not(AFAIK), which means that it requires OS9 (and PPC). You could try SheepShaver, but I have had no luck with any old games on it, Master of Orion 2 and Heroes III have not worked for me.

Your best bet is buying an OS 9 machine. Other than that, you could try using sheepshaver.

Recommendations?

So, what specific recommendations do you (or others) have for an older stable MAC to get to play some of these older games?

I'm still so angry that my parents sold my fully functioning Apple IIc but I'm not necessarily talking about that old of games (though I would'nt mind finding a version of Wasteland ported to OS9 or 10.x). I'm more interested in MOO2 and a few others.
