I have just jumped back to ios and the iphone 5 today after being totally disappointed with my galaxyS4.
After getting home and setting my ip5 up I have found that the display is very warm with a yellow tinge to it yet my sons ipod has this very vibrant cool, bright colour.
Did apple change the colour temp on the ip5 or is apples QC just getting worse

Yes. Easy fix...if your on 6.1.2 or below. Jailbreak. Install Color Profiles. Perhaps the only reason I jailbreak.

Most iPhone 5 models are a bit warmer. the first one I had (from launch) was nice, bright, cool. Then the top button broke and I had to get a replacement which was much warmer. I didn't like it (still don't) but that's just how they are these days. Check it out next to some other ones and you'll see there are some variances but most are pretty "warm".

My 5 is definitely warmer than my 4S. It seems like every generation of everything Apple makes gets warmer, at some point they should start coming back the other way.

Personally I prefer a cooler screen.

He shouldn't have to jailbreak to fix an issue that is clearly the fault of Apple QC.

It is not a fault of apple qc, I believe the warmer display is intentional. Jailbreaking just allows you to change the temperature of the display (software change)

Yes and no! The colour temp is now more accurate. Real life is not technicolor!
