Hi MacRumors, first my apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I've been using a MacBook Pro for a little over 2 years now and would never need to breath another system.

In my use, I've downloaded a lot of files and programs, including torrents, and I've never been one to take licensing and legality into consideration. At worst I might have a pre-licensed copy of some basic desktop publishing programs, and a movie/album here and there.

My question is, would this affect my warranty/rights regarding the MacBook itself, and would it affect me if I wanted to have my MacBook serviced at the Apple Store?

There's a few other unrelated questions I'd like to ask but obviously I'm not sure if this is the right forum anyway. Thanks for any help!

Apple doesn't care, unless it is their software. Although to be safe, backup your software, be it via Time Machine, or just having the installer, before you take it in, and if you are paranoid, remove it from the system.
