Warranty Question for iPhone

Is it worth ~$10 a month + the deductible, for the 3rd party warranty offered by Verizon?

If I were to drop the phone etc... what repair options would I have without the Verizon coverage and what cost might I be looking at?

Up to you. If you find yourself dropping the device a lot or encountering sistuations quite often where you'd need the insurance, then yes.

If you are very careful with your stuff, then probably not.
