Hi,

I just received a used iPad 1 I purchased from cowboom.com. I reset it to factory settings, showing iOS 4.3.3. I looked up the serial number on Apples website and it is listing it as out of warranty. I didn't expect a used iPad 1 would be within warranty, but given the installed OS version it just got me thinking.

Based on when iOS 4.3.3. was released, shouldn't it be within the one year warranty? Is there something else which could have happened to this ipad which would have voided it in Apple's systems?

Thanks

Umm, it was used? That means that whoever had it before probably upgraded the firmware while 4.3.3 was out. Resetting to factory settings doesn't downgrade the firmware version..just erases everything else on there.

That must be it then, I thought erasing all content and settings restored it to it's original out of the box state. Thanks.
