I understand the ipod touch comes with a 1 year warranty, does that include if anything goes wrong with the headphones. Mines are beginning to mangle at the minute and was wondering if they would replace them?

I really don't think so. I haven't ever checked though.

But is it really worth it? The buds are pretty awful, and you can get better for cheaper, really. Just a friendly suggeston :)

The warranty covers the headphones as well and replacement should be free of charge including the shipping and handling so I don't see how replacement headphones would be "cheaper".

That said, when I bought my Touch I sold my old 5.5G 30GB video iPod and included the Touch headphones with it. I definitely prefer the sound quality of my Sony MDR-EX85SL headphones.
