Hello everyone,

I've had an iPhone 3GS now for around about 7 months under Tesco contract (24 month). And about 2 weeks ago my iPhone home button was very hard to press with one finger, so I sent it to Tesco to get it repaired. This is where my problem has started...

They said that one of their engineers has examined the phone, and have found a fault that is NOT covered by the warranty. And that they will be happy to repair it for £119.

I phoned them up and they said that the charger port has bent pins! and that it was _me_ who had bent them. I told them all i want is a button fixed, but they insist that they cannot fix my phone, and that the iPhone is no longer in warranty... EDIT: I should note my iPhone is in warranty till my contract ends. Just that the bent pins (the charger port) has voided my warranty. I have no idea the legalality of this?

Any idea on how to proceed this? I have no idea how I could bend the pins in the charger, i just plug it in every night. The phone has never had a charging problem either. Just the home button =(

This is my first iPhone, but i've got numerous of iPods, an iPad, iMac and AppleTV. Never had a problem with anything other than my phone :(

Sorry, had to do an edit, cause it sounded like i had no warranty at all, which I did until Tesco took it away! Also note I believe I should not pay for something that is under warranty, such as a charger port... especially one costing £119!
