ok... IF you are talented or maybe not you can even do it in paint so... :apple:

So the moral of this video is telling us that you don't need photoshop to do all this work. Microsoft Office can do that too. Consider how expensive Adobe CS comparing with Microsoft Office.

iOS 7 was created in microsoft word

Holy crap watch this!

Why Jony Whyyyyy

that just proves that microsoft word is so versatile it can do a lot of things.
not necessarily that it was all created in MS Word...
but even if it was...so what?

I do agree i like iOS 6's icons

The main thing is that the autoshapes are exactly the same as the different parts of the icons. Jony Ive didn't create the icons. Apple's marketing team did, for whatever reason.

It proves a few things.

1) that guy is good at using Word but has too much time on his hands.

2) a lot of iOS 7 can be done in word

3) for all he could do there were custome icons hecouldnt replicatw sufficiently so its not just a Word creation.

4) if It was all done in Word it would only sting Microsoft to know Apple use their software to make a better OS than they can themselves.

im pretty sure the icons, as according to the video, were symbols from the helvetica font set

Not Surprising given that all the icons are exclusively based on a combination 2D Shapes and gradients (that includes the game centre icon).

If the symbols matched the clip art symbols exactly then I would say that they were using clip art elements. Given that many of the clip art symbols often needed to be extensively modified i would say that the designers didn't go anywhere near MS clip art elements.

Then again I don't think that the creator of the video was implying that, rather just how flexible MS word can be.

I don't think the video would translate well with some people here though, who will literally interpret it as having Apple having used MS Word to create the icons rather than it being replicable in MS Word.

Wow I watched the whole video. Interesting. To be honest majority of the public could not give a **** In my opinion. I haven't heard a single complaint except on these forums. Most people think it's cool

Well if you rely on gradients and basic shapes, then yes. Photoshop does a lot more than that. The point is that the icons of iOS 7 are so simple, even Word has the tools to (re)create them. Many if not all icons can be created with Inkscape as vector graphics.

Agreed. The guy is very talented. Why he would take time in doing this, however, is beyond me.

Why? Because he loves what he does maybe? Plus with the hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube, he can use this to get a job. His skills are on clear display.
