Haven’t seen anything concrete even though all four phones are out now.

The rumors back in June were that BOE had failed quality control testing and was being furloughed this year in favor of LG and/or Samsung splitting the lineup.

We are seeing the same posts we get every year about certain phones having white points warmer or cooler than expected, but I’m especially curious if the most highly reported models line up with a particular supplier.

Not trying to perpetuate speculation here, just curious.

Based off the rumors, the Mini and Max utilize the Samsung display which is apparently better.

I got my 12PM on launch day and played the black OLED video circulating the testing subs, and mine thankfully doesn't have the glowing/ flickering issue.

Tone doesn't seem to be too warm either.

My biggest question is whether 12 and 12 Pro use the same supplier. I heard about this flickering thing- what’s the deal on that? The usual PWM sensitivity some people have?

Believe me the mini is not better by any means

Ah yeah, the rumors are those use the LG panel.

No it's the OLED panel glowing green below 90% brightness. Pixels basically don't turn off.

This is the test video:

Oh wow, people are saying it’s probably a software issue (which is hard to believe, but stranger things have happened.) Is there an active thread about *this* problem and not the “my white point is slightly yellow” on macrumors?

I'm not sure, I haven't been letting it bug me too much. I actually redid the test today playing around with the brightness levels, and I do get a flickering at ~30% brightness. Don't think this is PWM flicker, but my whole screen literally flicks a light grey/ green every 1-2 seconds. I can imagine this being a huge distraction for movies.

I definitely don't have the greenish/ grayish glow people are talking about though. It's as if the screen is trying to decide whether to shut off the pixels or not for the OLED panel.
