I have a T-Mobile iPhone 7 that I submitted an unlock request for through t-mobile. I mostly just did it in case we decide to go to AT&T at some point.

I have no interest in restoring my phone at the moment as the instructions stated to confirm that it was successful so to try and test if this was successful I stuck a Verizon SIM card in the phone. I know that T-Mobile iPhones will not work on the Verizon network.

When I put in the SIM card, the phone went to a set up screen and activated while I was connected to wifi. I then enabled LTE voice and data on the phone since I knew it would not connect to the 3G network because the t-mobile iPhone doesn't have cdma tech.

When I enabled LTE, the "Verizon wireless" service showed up in the upper left hand corner as well as the "LTE" symbol but I had no dots/bars of coverage so I couldn't make a call to test.

Does the fact that the Verizon Wireless name showed up with the LTE symbol symbolize that my unlock was succesful? I also did not ever receive the "The Sim card that you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supprotedunder the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server." error message.

Unfortunately I don't have an ATT sim to truly test out the phone on another network, but does the results I did get indicate that the unlock was succesful? Or should I go through the restore process for safe measure?

Thanks for your input in advance!
