My friend told me that if he wraps his iPhone in aluminum foil it has better reception...dialing is a pain in the arse but at least he can call someone...
by the looks of it he was holding it wrong but same time he never used it to make a call and never had data enabled on the phone except wifi
Doesn't matter the way he was holding it.
It was a issue with the wifi, "holding the phone wrong" doesn't affect wifi connections on the iphone, only cellular signal.

Depending on how I hold my phone, I lose some wifi signal too, not just 3g. The phone said "Could not activate cellular network" during the keynote.
It worked once people shut down their MyFi's or w/e they are called.and ti didn't work!....
Oh, and the almighty Steve Jobs can never hold it wrong, fyi.
