battery % is new only on 3GS. Ready to put your flame suit on cause I think other members will flame you for not searching

No, are YOU ready to get flamed? You didn't even read the entire post... he clearly mentioned the % was only for the 3G S and why was it that the 3G had it. Which is true and most likely meant that the 3G was modified (Jailbroken) in order to activate it.

He's asking why the 3G (not 3GS) has the battery indicator.

This is asked every day.

If you had previously jailbroken and did a backup of your phone settings, restoring that to 3.0 will bring the battery % with it on any phone, not just the 3GS.

The end.

dude the point is that a well known site used a JB iphone for a review

It wasn't jailbroken, a setting that is in the phone backup FROM a jailbreak was restored to a NON jailbroken 3.0.

Whatever, it's still interesting that a major site used a (previously) jail broken phone to do an interview that will be viewed by thousands of people.

Ummm my 3G has 3.0 on it, isn't jailbroken and has the battery percent. Its in all versions of the 3.0 firmware and will show regardless of phone.

The JB feature appears when you TAP the battery in place of it. The 3.0 feature has the percent to the left of the battery.

That's not true. You had previously jail-broken a phone and that was left over in the backup, even if it isn't jail-broken now.

You're making multiple posts about it even though everyone knows it's wrong. It's on the Apple site, it's everywhere. You cannot have a battery % indicator on a 3G without it having been JB'd in the past.

They have talked on their podcasts how one of their iPhones is jb'd. I dont remember which writer
